The NCAA Championship: A Few Thoughts

The Duke Blue Devils  have brought basketball glory back to the state of North Carolina. This state has the powerful UNC tradition for whom Michael Jordan is the greatest example and highly respectable traditions like the Wolfpack of North Carolina State. But Duke is the pre-eminent glory.

This year they had to go and beat a “never say die” team from Butler whose Bulldogs felt they were defending a home court in one of Basketball’s sacred Hoosier venues.

I did not follow the tourney as closely as I sometimes do but I did follow it enough to see that these two teams in the final had a pair of great stories.  This post is another break from politics I suppose.
